    MELTED headlight switch harness

I have actually had this happen to me twice. The first time it melted the harness that connects to the actual light switch. No big deal there, replace the harness and put it back together. The second time was weird, the harness melted but when I replaced it the problem was still there (lights...

    Hey check this block out..

I will run a tap through the more crucial areas, not everything. I spray in some carb cleaner, blow it out with the air compressor and run a brush through the others that I dont tap. Im very thorough (sp?) when I work on my car, I dont like doing the same thing over again.

    Hey check this block out..

Not entirely true, I did something similar to this on my old block, cracked a little chunk off from over tightening and didnt hurt the bell housing at all. I had a couple shops look at it and they all said that it was probabily just bad casting and/or fatigue. By the way, the holes were...

FOX Valve Covers on a 94-95

You also need to keep in mind different heads may be taller. On my car I have gt-40 X heads and they are alot taller than stock heads and the back of my alternator was hitting the valve cover, didnt do it with the stock heads. Obviously its a simple fix, but just something to look out for.

    headlights blinking on and off???

Could be a bad headlight switch, a couple wires in mine were starting to melt together for no apparent reason a long time ago and the inconsistancy of the lights was one thing that happened. The other thing it could be is your multi-function switch, I recently found out that this stupid thing...

need help with a new hood....

I had a set of those hood shocks about 5 years ago and I can tell you that they didnt work. They hit the top part of the inner fender (or whatever its called) under the hood when you tried to close it. I checked, re-checked and did it all over again and the hood would not close with them on...

    Rollcall...Fluidyne Owners Report!

Ive had mine for about 6-7 months but only about 5000 miles. I had an odd leak from somewhere, no visible leaks, no trails, no anything yet I would still have a puddle. I only noticed this when it was cold, so the temperature could be a factor. It also could be the kind of radiator fluid you...

    People with Saleen bodykits.

Well, when I got mine painted I had a friend that owned a body shop, so my cost wasnt too bad, I think I only paid like 1000 for him to prep, paint and install the front/rear covers, side skirts, wing and put on all the saleen decals. Of course that was way before my flame job, so no more...

    My first attempt at polishing

to get them looking like chrome you just need to spend LOTS of time on the piece. Take your time sanding, making sure that when your done witheach grit that its perfect before you move on to the next grit. It just takes lots of time and practice. RC, its the stock covers that dont clear and...

    My first attempt at polishing

I personally use a dremel with either a felt buff tip, cloth buff wheel or tapered buff tip depending on the size and tightness of the area. The shine isnt as great, but I figure that in a tight area that nobody can hardly see, as long as its shining it looks good. As to the cobra intake...

    My first attempt at polishing

You should actually never have to go over 400 grit, almoststock says he never goes over 320 and his motor looks amazing (if I can find a pic of it I will attach one). You know your applying too much pressure if you start to get this black goop on the piece, you only need light to moderate...

    My first attempt at polishing

Looks good man, it looks like there is a bit of swirling on it but it may just be the camera flash, but looks much better than stock. Just a few quick things I have noticed when I polish. First is that I ALWAYS, there hasnt been one exception yet, get a better result when I wet sand with the...

Reply Here if your LOW Coolant Light has come on!

Mines really weird, I see fluid on the ground but when I jack up the car I can find no leaks anywhere, no traces of leaks anywhere, everything is sealed up tight all freshly redone when I put my fluidyne in not 4 months ago. So, I have no idea where its comin from but its not much, I have to...

    who polished there alternators?

Well, there are a few things you could be doing wrong. One is not spending enough time at each grit, another is using the same buffing wheel for both white rouge and tripoli (do NOT do this, the two negate eachother and results will be dull), or you could be using not so good compounds, or the...

    who polished there alternators?

But chrome retains heat, and on certain parts that generate heat that could turn out to be a problem. I say chrome as little as possible and polish as much as possible.

    who polished there alternators?

1000 grit and 1500 is way too much, I never go higher than 400 grit. If you still have scratches then you need to spend more time on the lower grits. Also, I have found that I get the best results by first dry sanding with 400 then wet sanding with 400 after I am done with the lower grits. I...

    who polished there alternators?

I polished mine in a TOTAL of about 6 hours. The casing isnt that bad to take off, all you need to do is take off the voltage regulator (use a paper clip to re-set the brushes when you re-install), take off the pully, take off the three bolts and the casing should slide off with no problems...

    Volts?

Ok all, a quick update incase anyone else has this problem. I sanded down under the two ground wires that were coming off of the battery, made a nice clean ground for those. Then I noticed that one of my alternator casing bolts was hitting my valve cover, I dont know if this couldve affected...
