just take a measuring tape to the junkyard :) i have a 4 core radiator and i pulled 3 fans im pretty sure the common pontiac/chevy fan didnt fit and the common taurus one didnt either i stumbled upon a svt taurus (forget teh real name) and that fan fit i believe i also got one from a chrysler...

Lose The Rear Cats, Lose Torque.

i believe what you said happened - but i dont believe your explanation of it you dont lose power from too big of an exhaust the most important exhaust tuning is in your secondary/collector pipe lengths your cats acted as a resonator box (2nd page very bottom)...

Help a CHEVY guy build a 69 stang!

from what i understand, if you know what you're doing you can get a c4 to hold up for sure i blew out my second gear after mine had only been rebuilt for like 2 years... (manually shifting it at 5500) mild 289 here *built by a reputable "shop"

    Classic Mustang Exhaust

my friend had some on a 68 and it was pretty annoying imo... very loud inside the cab *i should clarify, the pipe exited from the side (in front of the rear wheels) the po had it like that and i didnt care for the sound of it my friend said he liked it, but when he got the exhaust redone...

How do you think these heads will do

if i were in your situation, this is what id do first, i wouldnt change a machone to a boss302 striping... just wouldnt do it and im a restomod guy, i just like mach's better 2nd, id probably stick with the cleveland motor if you still have it - they can get you deep into the 13's easily...

    Flow numbers for aftermarket intake???

but the performer is worse than a 40 year old stock ford intake *also remember, that article is from 1988 that weiand intake has a part # listed in the article fletcher said it is similar to the edelbrock torker 1 (you can tell from pictures also)

    Torker II Package???

jerry, have you tried a spacer? a larger plenum would probably help alot with the intake im guessing i would stay away from the torker stuff, only because it seems to be very sensative... there are a few guys running fast with the equipment, but many more dissatisfied - you need to know...

    302 and 12 MPG...

cruising at 75 with 2.80's i got about 16/17 mpg with eddy performer setup trip from my parents to norman is about 155 miles or so and it took just over half a tank when the points went bad, the gas mileage did drop alot though

    289 Head question

so you trust the ratings from the 1960's? i did say it would be noticable, but probably not worth the monetary effort by itself he should do it, but he should do more also *the most important part of the equation is that it "might" be 25hp at 5krpm and he probably wont spend much time there

    Aftermarket iron heads

im thinking about new heads too and price is a concern :) i will definitely keep thumper in mind... *im going to check diyporting.com also

    Dynomax Super Turbos?

that would probably be a good medium... i personally dont like side exits as it makes it much louder in the cab; but the super turbos are very managable while cruising

    289 Head question

if everything else on the motor is stock, it will only make a minor difference... it will be noticable id definitely have it done, but dont stop there

looking for new intake & soliciting recommendations

i cant really tell for sure, but you're graph has a funky shape on the top end was your a/f ratio good? i would almost bet money your problem is the STOCK FUEL PUMP as far as the torker 2 being crap, id say its very combination sensitive - with most people not having the right combination...

    Dynomax Super Turbos?

on the head to head tests ive seen, the turbos are much quieter until you floor it then they are about equal to the flows in sound
