    A/C Compressor Clutch Fried?

Hey all, curious if anyone can assist with an aching problem. Recently had to replace the electric cooling fan in my car. I replaced it noticing a loud high pitched 'whine' producing white smoke coming from under the engine bay, passenger side. Fan replaced and spinning, all things...

So I leave the Ford dealership with no GT cluster

Just to follow up, I was able to swap the cluster after two visits to the dealership. It did require the 'Parameter reset' in the NGS (not reprogramming keys) AND clearing the KAM (reset the PCM) to successfully rid of the PATS problems. GT cluster in and completes the last piece of the v6 ->...

So I leave the Ford dealership with no GT cluster

Oh yeah.. I kept asking if I should disconnect my negative battery lead when swapping out clusters, but they insisted that wasn't necessary.. MaxMustang -- thanks for the info! I researched test J on my cd and noticed the cluster DTC error matches that procedure. I watched them play in the...

So I leave the Ford dealership with no GT cluster

Yes I swapped the odometer board from my original cluster. It's only a display though, mileage and PATS are stored in the large circuit board. I actually have the Ford service CD for my 99, maybe I'll check that out. One guy (ebay seller) claims he can clear the PATS codes and program milage...

So I leave the Ford dealership with no GT cluster

I just bought a 150mph GT cluster to replace my now obsolete 120mph v6 cluster. A year and some odd months back I replaced my 3.8L engine with a 4.6. For some reason when they tried to program the keys with the new cluster today, the theft light would still blink after the process. Anyone know...

    orbital buffer...?

I wholeheartedly agree with Bob regarding the Porter Cable unit. I have the random orbital model and it blows away the 10" I had. Not only did it do much better at removing the acid rain etching, it's much easier to work around tight areas of the body. Between that, Meguiar's, and my pad set...

    Clay Bar

The clay bar is used to remove contaminants in the paint (mostly from road driving such as brake dust/etc). If used properly with a lube such as a quick detailer it can work wonders. Just gently slide it across the paint surface and periodically refold the clay so you ensure you're working...

    Mr. Clean Car Wash System?

I actually have a water pump in the backyard push underground unfiltered water to my garden hose and the Mr. Clean seemed to really help with my water spot issues due to hard NC water. Anyone else wonder how much of that rinse soap really gets washed off by the filtered water? Mine seems to...

    Mac exhaust

I have the MAC Flowpath cat-back on my 99 and love it. It's a nice deep 'muscle-like' rumble and the 3.5" chrome tips just set it off ;)...

    Buffer

Well, I went with the Porter Cable random orbital buffer. It far exceeds any standard buffer I've used in the past. Its small 6" pad, speed control knob, and a healthy dose of Meguiar's 9/7/26 really helped the paint on my 99. Check out Meguiar's NXT as well...

    question dont hate me

Yeah.. I would listen to these people ;). I have personally swapped my 99 3.8L for a 4.6, and wouldn't do it over again. If you're dead set on it, the only way to go would be to virtually purchase the entire front end of a GT. It's so easy to drive off in one from the dealership :D.

    Muffler poll. READ BEFORE VOTING!

Well, I recently installed the MAC Flowpath cat-back with the 3.5" chrome tips. I've grown to really enjoy it, and the tips look great. All in all, exhaust preference is up to the buyer; there are many great systems out there..

anybody try Meguiar's nxt Tech Wax?

I recently purchased a bottle along with the NXT wash. I, so far, have enjoyed both. Between the Rain X, Mothers Back to Black on the trim, and NXT, the waters rolls completely off the car :D. The wash smells almost like candy or something..

    Hit for Illegal Tint

With my 20% tint I usually feel okay when it comes to being around cops, but I do always roll both of my windows down (or atleast crack passenger side) to allow as much light in as possible :D

    Cruise Control Question

I'm not an expert on cruise, but I did manage to fix mine after the engine swap on my 99GT. Basically you need the proper deactivation switches as you mentioned, the cruise control servo (main unit) with matching accelerator cables, and a wire between your PCM and cruise servo. Drop me an...

how do you like your MAC

I recently installed the MAC flowpath catback and really enjoy it so far. I still have to figure out how to adjust my tips to fit my cutouts nicely, but the sound is truely unique IMO.

MAC Flowpath Install Problem Over Rear Axle...

Nevermind.. just lowered the car and jacked it up near the rear axle, but allowed it to hang low *newb mistake*. Anyway, anyone with MAC's notice the mufflers only have one hanger (mine have no bottom ones so they are tilted after installation)? Guess I'll have to cut/reuse my old ones....

MAC Flowpath Install Problem Over Rear Axle...

Okay, one side of my stock system is now off with the O/R H ready to accept my new MAC cat-back. The problem is I cannot get the muffer/bent tube over the rear axle. Everytime I try it catches on the control arm or parts of the body. Anyone have any ideas how to manipulate it over the axle...

SICK OF AOD, what 5-SPEED IS BEST?

I've been researching this as well. I assisted (finding parts/etc) in my 3.8L to 4.6L swap, so obviously I'll be doing this one. I'm eventually going from a 4R70w to *hopefully* the T-56 provided I find a decent deal on eBay. I have a fairly complete list of parts if needed... hmm 99 3.8L...
