    lugnut patterns

A while back I bought a 9" rear from a friend who was parting out his early 70s f100. It has a 5 on 5.5" (roughly) lug pattern. My car is running a 5 on 4.5" (ruoghly) lug pattern. I am going to be changing the length of the axle to fit under my car, I will have to buy aftermarket axles to...

    66 mustang rearend

Has anyone concidered the 8.8 irs out of the 80s and 90s t-birds?? It has its own subframe that would not be hard to mount in an early stang. I do not know the width but it would be close.

    Detroit Locker questions.

If you put the tranny into neutral, can you rotate the driveshaft?? I used a detroit locker in my truck, it is not an ez locker but nearly the same thing. No mine doesn't make a loud pop, it doesn't really make any noise at all. If you bought your locker new, it has testing instructions with...

    Aftermarket seats....???

Having an 88 escort gt, I know I would not want those seats in a stang. I did however see a really nice set of (forgive me) APC seats at a show, they were not parchment but had excellent support.

    Please help: Electrical problem

I would take the neg side off of the battery and put a test light between the terminal and post. If there is light you have a short. Just systematically disconnect stuff till the light goes out. When it does, you have found your short.

    why would starter wire smoke?

I would first test the resistance of the wire between the starter and the solinoid. A wire like that should have no resistance to it, if it has any I would suspect the wiring.

    73 mach 1

For what its worth, I have the same setup as you are running (2v 351c in a 73 mach) and I have the edelbrock 4 barrel intake and a 620 edelbrock, and hate it. The engine needs more carb and a diffrent intake. I don't like the power curve of my setup.

66 wont crank, acts like battery is dead

Since it clicks at the relay, I wouldn't expect it to be in the ignition switch. If it were mine, I would check the resistance between the positive terminal on the battery cable and the relay's power side. Sounds like you have insufficient power.

whats with shimming the clutch pack in a traction loc?

The shims determin how tight the limited slip is. The looser the clutch pack, the more it will have a tendinicy to deliver power to one tire. On the other hand, too tight and you might as well have bought a spool. Like all things automotive there is a spec for this.

Time to buy that second car / daily driver

A lot of people have said it and it is true...buy an escort. My daily driver is an 88 GT. You would be supurised at the bite they have for a four banger. I do an average of 30,000 miles a year, and it has never left me walking. Oh and it has 260,000 miles on it. Not to mention I got it for...
