when i bought my car i was told it had a world class t5, didn't think much of it cause i was stupid. had the car longer, decided i wasnt sure 100% if it was. i have 4.10 rear gears and my first gear tops out at like 35 mph. i was told that the 4 cyl t5 first tops out at like 15 or so mph. if...

lifter perhaps? check the oil, i think sometimes it can be remedied by that. oh and make sure it's not exhaust. isnt the trick to put a screwdriver on the valve cover to see if its valve chatter?

my 93 has it on the right side of the console, but that's beside the point. is it possible to get an 85 console that matches the interior? that seems like the least invasive method to me.

SN95 or turbocoupe brakes are probably a lot easier and have a better knowledge base because they're a more common swap.

couldn't i just use my current alternator or would it not charge enough? i thought the A9l of the same year would cover all of the wiring differences anyway...what all things will need to be changed like the alternator and lights harness?

thanks for the replies guys. i know the 7.5 isn't too great behind a track car, but on the street i know they can take it cause my friends has taken it for over a year, even with the 4 cylinder tranny. now the mention of the fuel lines reminded me...will i be able to just get 5.0 fuel lines...

nah, 4 cylinder springs work fine and actually give better weight transfer i think. my friend did a swap and he left the springs and it was fine, but he moved so i can't ask him the specifics of the swap. thanks for the reply though.

once again, IT IS NOT A PROBLEM. T5 REVERSE IS NOT SYNCHROMESH. YOU HAVE TO EITHER WAIT FOR IT TO SLOW DOWN AND SYNCHRONIZE ITSELF (like crovax said) OR SYNCHRONIZE IT JOOSELF.

no problem at all. T5's reverse isn't synchromesh so all you have to do is put it in 5th and then reverse (actually any gear will work, but 5th is right by reverse). no grind. g'day ps for those inquisitive minds, putting it in 5th will synchronize the transmission since reverse can't...
