AWD vs RWD easyness to drive question

OK, so I figure worst case scenario if I get the STi is that a have to replace the clutch sometime, which isnt bad compared to fookin up the tranny. I guess I really need to find a 05 GT to test drive, all the magazines call it big and bulky especially compared to the STi, so I wanna feel just...

AWD vs RWD easyness to drive question

Number of STi's or number of WRXs? there is a HUGE difference, as the WRX is supposed to have a fragile tranny but the STi's is heavy duty. The guys over at imprezawrxsti.com say that the clutch and tranny are pretty hardcore and can take a little abuse.

AWD vs RWD easyness to drive question

Alright, thanks for the help. This doesnt makes the decision any easier for me :/ Guess I gotta see those 06 STi's in person... then see if there are any 05s even left.

AWD vs RWD easyness to drive question

Ah, I didnt know how good the TCS was as opposed to a full blown Stability control system. So on to the other part of my question, will the car that one finds easier to drive (STi/05stang) vary from person to person?

AWD vs RWD easyness to drive question

I have 250hp 05 LGT with the automatic, and if I give it too much gas on purpose I can swing the rear out in 1st and sometimes 2nd gear. I think Im not getting my question across the way I want; Im not going to be doing crazy stuff in it, I meant is it a lot easier to get into trouble in the...

AWD vs RWD easyness to drive question

Well, this may be sort of an odd question, but any input would be appreciated. For a first manual car, can it be said that say, a 05 Mustang would be easier to drive than a WRX STi? (Keep in mind Im talking STi, not normal WRX) I'm not just talking numbers, since I know both have plenty o...

If he beats you and no one else is in his car, ask him to put down his rear window :D

    Drove a 6Cyl Vert Today

Yeah we test drove a v6 as well since NO dealers have a V8 in either coupe or vert form! It certainly is a nice car and its perfect for anyone except car freaks like us who demand 5 second 0-60 times :D First convertible I'd ever been in, and I thought it felt pretty solid and wasn't very loud...

    Played with a 350Z

The Z's engine, the VQ35 is a totally different breed of V6. I dont know too much aobut the ford's, but I heard it is a truck engine? The Z's is a 287/300hp monster, revs lightning quickly and sounds beautiful. The Z track and 35th annv have 300 hp, but the torque is lower (obviously) and...

    Charger SRT8 -

Yeah those pics, esp the one of the black one in mid-drift made it look really hot. I saw the Charger at the Detroit autoshow, and saw the SRT-8 at the NY Autoshow, and while the SRT had quite a lot of bling, and I'm sure the 6.1 Hemi doesn't lack power, the looks really just didn't do it for...

    05 GT Convertible Safety Ratings?

Talking to the dealer/autoshow people, the mustang has what it sounds like you are saying is a reinforced windsheild: it can support the car on it. But there are no pop-up roll bars like in the Audi A4 vert, so I guess you may be safe if the car just flips but if anyone in the rear doesnt have...

    Car and Driver June 2005

Yeah I enjoyed the article, and im in love with the Stang convertible :D Just need to know some about safety which C&D didnt talk about! (See my other post on this board!) Thast weird that they got better accelleration numbers. Im sure it just has to do with differences in testing...

    05 GT Convertible Safety Ratings?

Anyone know if there have been official Crash Tests done to the 05 GT Convertible (with the optional side airbags)? Im guessing it's going to be similar to the coupe because you can't get curtain airbags in the coupe, but you do have a hard roof over you; so rollover is the largest issue I'm...

    Roush Stage 1

Cool! Any chance of getting a sound clip of the exhaust? I guess I havnt even heard a stock GT's exhaust which is spose to sound pretty sweet, but yeah. We did set up an appointment to go check out the Roush's in a couple of weeks though!

    Roush Stage 1

Yeah, they are trying to keep the GT500 under 40 thous I think; the GTO should fall between the mustang GT and GT500 in terms of price and performance which will be nice, more options for the buyer. As sweet as it would be to own a GT500, It still would be more unique to own a Roush tuned GT...

    Roush Stage 1

Alright, well I guess lemme know when you get your stang back, if you could email me pics that would be great, either on this thread or my email is [email protected] . Thanks for your help thus far, and I guess after seeing yours and hopefully getting more owners opinions, I can go see (and...

    Roush Stage 1

Yeah, thats why I would want a Roush kit, to stand out from all the other GTs (and V6s) we will soon see on the roads. Does it come with the Magnaflow exhaust on Magnaflow's website for the 05 GT? Checked out the video and it sounded pretty good, but you really gotta hear exhausts in real life...

    Roush Stage 1

Nice, so I assume you are keeping your current rims. Looking at Roush's website, the whole stage 1 kit is about $8.5-9k, but Im guessing that includes wheels and a whole load of other interior bits, and all I really want is a mean sounding and looking car (esp after hearing that goat!). I...

    Roush Stage 1

Thanks for the info, up until this point I've been considering a WRX STi or Evo (Im a subaru guy if you havn't figured that out by my name :D), but the next few years of my life won't require me to have an AWD car due to maximum winter driveability/safety (I live in Michigan), so I thought I...

    Roush Stage 1

Hey thanks for the reply! So did you have someone other than the dealer put on the body kit/exhaust? I guess that would make sense that if you bought it new with the stage 1 kit from the dealer they would try to gouge and make as much cash as possible (why Ive seen them on a dealers website...
