That's where I'm confused. The Windsor came out in 1969 with the FMX transmission. It could be a late 68 and Shelby had the benefit of the better engine before it went into production Mustangs. That is why I am asking.
not possible, the 351 was used only in 69, none were put into any 68 model vehicles. someone has swapped the 351 in to replace whatever was there before, if it truly is a 68 gt 350 it would have had a 302
Like dodgestang said it could be a clone. I think I'd get the vin # and get a Marti report on it. If it's a GT350 it shouldn't be that hard to put an original type 302 back in it. If it's a GT500 it'll be more expensive. If it's a GT500 KR it'll be more expensive yet to put the correct parts back on.
