I'd been watching this car on the local Facebook Marketplace for some time. Went from 1200 to 900 to 800.. the day after New Years, I made the guy a 600 offer and he took it. I had been wanting to get a project for myself and my 9 year old stepson to get into, he's been showing a LOT of interest in muscle cars lately, thought it would be a good idea to start him about the same age I started at haha. Came with a 351W long block, but I don't know if it's locked up or not. Coolant ports on the heads look reeeeal bad.
I don't know much about the car other than it's a 1969 Coupe, retired drag car. The only thing on the body is the front floor pans and there's a small hole in one of the rear quarter panels... which is surprising, this car has been sitting outside in eastern Washington for who knows how long. It's in good shape, solid platform to start with! Totally gutted, all the hard work is already done haha. We've more or less agreed on a late model 302/5 speed build with aluminum heads, cam, carb conversion, pistons, rods, crank, ignition, headers, etc etc etc. Most of the attention going into the drivetrain and suspension. Body will end up matte black, a street legal track setup. I'd like to be able to drive it to some of these awesome little racetracks Eastern Washington/North Idaho has to offer and drive it to work on occasion lol.
I'll keep updating frequently. It's 30 degrees outside, I'm sure more progress will be made when it's a little warmer.
