Hey guys. I have decided to attempt the swap of my rear end myself. I have a heated shop and all tools, including a good air compressor/air tools. I have a parts car with 4.10 gears inside that I want to swap the rear end from.

I have a few questions.

What all is involved in dropping this rear end? I attempted to get the drum brakes off. The drivers-side came off, but the passenger side refuses to come off. It gets part-way and feels like theres some spring holding the drum on. I have tried PB Blaster, and giving it a few good whacks with a hammer. Wont budge.

Can I just drop the rear end with the brakes attached, and then worry about swapping my brakes over once I have this rear end out?

ALSO, there is the rear springs... How exactly do I remove these? I know there are the rear shocks I just unblock from the axle, remove the brake line, support the diff and drop it... what else?

Any tips are appreciated.
