Drivetrain 1990 5.0 t5 fluid help

I got 90 5.0, about to do a clutch change, I heard of a lot ppl running different kind of fluid in their t5;s, what is the correct fluid to put in,thanks

I put full synthetic ATF in mine

Spec is Dextron 3/Mercon conventional. It's hard to get locally now days but Castrol still makes it and you can get that at Advance Auto.

I've ran Mobile synthetic ATF, Amsoil ATF, Dextron 3, and Royal Purple SyncroMax. The Royal Purple by far did the best in my T5.

Any synthetic for the T5 will be good. Change it once & never do it again. I put Redline in there 25 years ago.
