3:73's to 4:30s

Since your going for 1/8th mile performance, the 4.30's might not be a bad idea...and then again the 3.73's might stick you in a better powerband when you cross the line. I know my 3.73's with my h/c/i can get me at the very top of 3rd gear for me at about 6,000rpm. I usually make 4 shifts though before the 1/8th mile and still get 87.31mph.

I hope you mean you only make 3 shifts...I have 3.73's and i cross the traps in the 1/4 mile much faster than 87 and im only at 5500 in 4th.

But i do agree with what you are saying, however, there is a limit to how steep a gear you can run on a stock-type suspension setup. Even with control arms and chassis bracing, there is only so much power the tires will hold with 4.30's and an HCI combo. A proper suspension setup (AKA nice 4 link) is truly the only way to fast short times and quick ETs in the 1/8th. Do some research on the internet and see what rear/front suspension designs have been netting the shortest times. good luck
