Hey guys! I sure do learn a ton here. Thanks!
Building a 65 Mustang for a buddy of mine. Putting the motor back together and had the Machine Shop do the short block. Comp XE 262 cam, comp 1.6 fiull roller rockers, brodix st5.0 heads, intake carb headers, ignition, blah blah blah. Put in some checking Springs today to check pushrod length and it surely seems for all the world like the proper length is 6.980. That seems a little bit long to me but the comp lifters are also a little shorter than my factory ones. The checking Springs only had literally about one to one and a half pounds of force so I'm quite confident that they were not depressing my lifters. Just wanting a sanity check that this does not sound crazy for a pushrod length. Thanks much.
