I've been working on getting my '83 GT 5.0 buttoned back up and I'm having trouble routing the clutch cable properly.
Last week I did some searches and found information suggesting that the cable go through the K-member, doesn't seem quite right. When I route it that way, there's a sharp bend very near the tranny bell.
When I route it between the motor mount and the K-member, it's VERY close to the rag joint on the steering, and I'm worried that the cable will get chewed by the steering.
I tried routing it between the motor mount and oil filter and then down the side of the engine near the side of the oil pan. This seems best, but when I try to bolt the support bracket onto the inner fender, it wants to put a couple extra curves in the cable - this doesn't seem right either!
Please help me! I'm at my wit's end!
