98 GT - Don't see oil level on the dipstick after an oil change

98 GT - 117,5 K miles

I changed the oil yesterday. Put in 6 qts of Mobil 1 full synthetic and Mobil 1 oil filter. Tightened everything and did not see any leaks. Checked the oil level and could not see any oil on the dipstick. I checked it right after I put in the new oil. The dipstick is oily but I just can't see its level between the MIN and MAX markings. Do you usually have to wait for the oil to drip down to where the dipstick can read it properly?

Thanks for the reply. I ran it for a couple of minutes and then the oil appeared on the dipstick. All is well. #AmatuerHour
