I was driving yesterday with my AC on, on the highway. My temp gauge was reading a little higher than it normally does but Im thinking its cool because the A/C is on. Well I slowed down on the highway and my temp started to go up more and the car started to jerk and wouldnt pickup speed... Like it was about to cut off. I turned the A/C off and the temp went back down to the normal level just as if I never had the A/C on. But the car still jerked, but it would pick up speed... But not like normal. I made it home, let the car sit for 3hrs. Started it up and it ran smoothly. So I turned the A/C back on and 10min later it did the same thing. What could the problem be?

And I dont know if it makes any difference but I had to recharge the A/c with 1 can of refrigerant. I went to autozone and they sold me some R12refrigerant. Which they told me thats all they had. Is that the right stuff and could that be my problem?
