It's a weird squeek, as if something is dry or worn out. It occurs when going over bumps and turning the steering wheel. Also, if I'm at a stop and turn the wheel, it produces the noise. Any ideas as to what this could be? Thanks in advance.
i had the same problem it was almost like a creeking sound, it turned out to be my tierods if yours have the grease fittings, grease them thats what i did
I also have this problem. The front suspension creaks under braking, and over some bumps. I have tried lubing the front suspension in various places, but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas? We all seem to be having the same problem. Also, I am lowered 2 inches, so obviously the suspension is under stress.
its the tie rod ends, ford and chevy both make those stupid lifetime fittings that they say never need greased, so they didnt put any grease fitting on them. summit sells them with grease fitting for 30 buck, but you will need an alignment once you replace them.
mine did the same thing, went to autozone and bought some with a grease fitting for $15 each. took about 30 minutes to replace both sides, make sure to make a good measurement from the old ones so that u screw the new ones back on in the exact same spot, then u wont have to get an alignment.
for a cheap and quick but temporary fix have the car running and have a buddy turn the wheel from left to right and you spray some WD or soemthing similar to the tierod and all the moving joints down there and it will go away for a month or two.
