AOD Transmission Slippage

Hello Every one and Happy New Year. I'v not been around for a while due to work and being on Focaljet.com.
I have a 88 Mustang GT with a AOD Tranny. 1st and 2nd gears work ok, 3rd gear slips and the tranny goes back to 2nd gear and the OD does not work at all. Can this problem be repaired or do I have to do a tranny swap. Its been in the shop (not a Transmission place) and they could not do any thing with it.

first and foremost, check the fluid. make sure it's clean, and full.

secondly, the OD band is the weakest link in the AOD tranny. it's done for.

are you sure it's only slipping in 3rd?

As a former tranny mechanic, you need a rebuild. So instead of adding a $2500 auto, do a $1800 T-5 swap. Unless, your girly and just like the auto.

Or: you could add a nice TCI auto with a high stall.

A T-5 swap is Considered, I love stick but it seems I can only find Autogranny trans cars, My Focus ZX-3 has a Auto also. Also the Stang is a Family members but soon will be mine
