Are 1994 to 2004 rear axles shafts the same?

Anyone know if the rear axles shafts from a 1994 to 1998 Mustang are the same as the 1999 to 2004? Seems like I heard the length is different. Not including IRS Cobras.

Length is different, 94-98 are narrower. I have a set of 99+ axles if you like...

What about the housing? Is it the same or longer also?

99-04 housing is about 1.5" wider.

As a result, Ford had to lenghen the 99-04 axles 0.75" each side to match.

Brake hardware is exactly the same, just a wider housing and longer axles on the 99-04 cars.

86-98 8.8 housings are the same width
