Clear Coat Or Not?

Hey all,

Wondering if my 93 notch has factory clear coat paint. I think not due to the amount of red that shows up on my polishing pads.

Post your color code from the door sticker.

Red on pad= Red coat. Not clear.

If there is CC failure you'll see red also, but if the paint is in decent shape it's likely a single stage

It did have clear coat. Its just severely oxidized already... I would lay off any rubbing compound ur using.. there's not much that can be done to save the paint now so might start saving for a repaint...

Clear coat was an option on my car, so with that said I guess it is possible to not have it.

Vibrant red was available in clearcoat and non-clearcoat. Without a color code we will never know though.
