Clutch linkage

Agreed, there is an adapter bracket to do what you want.

There is another option if the motor is out, but it requires a little work. All 351w blocks retain the boss that Ford used for the Z bar. They just stop machining it during production. It requires that the boss be ground flat and then it gets drilled. Finish up with the appropriate sized tap and call it good. This is what I did with my 89' block, although I did have the old 70' block to use for measurements.

If you don't want to do what has already been mentioned, you can also go with a cable or hydraulic setup.

I have a cable clutch setup and am happy with it.

I don't know much about retrofitting the hydraulic setup.
