Clutch Pedal Rod - Firewall Hole Location?

All,

I am installing a stock clutch pedal / lever / rod in my '68 coupe. The car was originally an automatic so I will need to drill a hole in the firewall for the clutch pedal rod. I am using all stock parts, and this is going to a 302 with a 4 speed top loader.

Does anyone have a picture of where the rod should be on the firewall? It looks like the best place is pretty close to the steering col.?

Thank you!

This ought to do. There's a dimple marking the center of the hole. Make sure you make it the right size to fit the rod boot:
