Bring a big pry bar. I was able to get mine out with out unbolting any mounts(v6 car) bend some ac lines out of the way and then use the bar to roll the engine rearward and wiggle the fan out (a second person would be good but it's doable by yourself)

the aftermarket contour fans don't turn as fast as the oem ones do, at least not in my experience

No, but they still flow quite well. I'm running an aftermarket Contour fan and it's having no problem keeping my car cool while running it at around 75% max speed.

I previously ran an SN95 OEM fan but the biggest difference is the contour fan with the LMR mounting brackets covers 100% of the radiator surface area. It's just making more efficient use of the airflow even if the CFM is slightly less.

If i ever find a good deal on an OEM contour fan i'll get it and swap the motors over to my aftermarket fan shroud (i like the nice new plastic) but it's looking like that's not something I'm really going to need. I'll get more of an idea later this summer when we finally get into the 90's and I'm running A/C

That’s why when I saw a NOS oem set pop up about 4-5 years ago I bought it . I will not let it go . I haven’t see the another set since
