Drill the fuel pump basket?

I'm prepping the car for a procharger install. I've ordered a deutschworks 340 lph drop in pump.

Any supercharger guys see the need to drill the 3 holes on the basket or is the upgraded pump capable on it's own?

Drill less holes? Was thinking 3 holes about 3/8" in size, spaced equally around the base of the basket.

Let's me know what you think?

I’m running a 290lph fuel pump - just dropped the TU-229 HP in, no other mods.

I contemplated drilling holes - wasn’t convinced that stories of “baskets getting sucked dry” were true for stock bottom end power levels. My 290lph pump gets to 85% duty cycle at redline on my gauges.

Drilling holes negates the intent of the basket to keep fuel near the pump. I’d rather keep the tank full of fuel to prevent any issues so that basket is always pulling fuel. I always run no less than 1/4 tank of 93octane (vast majority of time I never go below 1/2 a tank).

In the end- at stock bottom end power levels with 1/2 tank of gas there is probably zero difference drilling vs not drilling.
