Hi I have a 2003 mustang gt and was wondering if a catted h pipe will be a lot louder of stock if anyone has a vid of a catted h pipe with flow 44s please send me it I would like to hear it
Stock is two sets of cats (4 total). A single set of cats with an aftermarket H, especially with a catback, will be probably be louder. The catback is going to be the biggest difference in loudness going from stock.
Flowmaster 44's are plenty loud for most people. I originally had flowmasters welded in to the stock pipes. Saved about $100 total after labor costs (at that time) vs a catback. I have since switched to a catback because the stainless steel, larger exhaust pipe diameter, and sound (no more drone) were important to me. If I were to do it over again I would have skipped the weld-ins and just got the catback for the sound I wanted first (I am partial to borla): View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpyVBV5R9tw
