anybody got a write up on the SVT focus fuel pump install?...i've been looking for one....figure it can't be too hard, but would be nice to have a write up to study at work...I'll be grabbing a Haynes manual to help me take out the stocker
Focus Pump Install?

It was really easy. Took me about an hour.
1. Disconnect the wiring harness between the tank and rear bumper, and start the car. This will run any line pressure out.
2. Remove the 3 bolts at the filler neck.
3. Disconnect the fuel filter.
4. Place a jack under the tank and ensure it's holding the weight.
5. Unbolt the tank straps.
6. Lower the tank down.
7. I think there's 8x 5.5 mm or 6mm bolts on the top of the tank that hold the pump assembly in place. Make sure that you clean off any dirt and what not before you break the seal.
8. Once the top is off, there's 2 clips that hold the canister in the basket. I think you squeeze them in to release it. It's the same as the canister on the focus assembly.
9. Disconnect the wiring connector on the top of the pump.
10. Remove the 5x5mm (I think) screws from the top of the assembly.
11. Remove the top and pull the pump out.
12. Replace the GT pump w/ the focus pump.
13. Reverse 10-1.
The only things to watch for is the filler gauge. Some people forget the direction it faces and they have to drop the tank to fix it. Otherwise it's pretty straight forward. PM me if you have any other questions.
