Gears & Smog ?'s

I live in California and i know that when it comes to emmissions it sucks. I have JBA shorty headers which are supposed to be 50 state legal and a prochamber. The stock catted h-pipe is going back in for the smog but im planning on putting 4.10's before my smog in a couple months. Are the 4.10's gonna effect me passing or not cause i heard that cars are being smoged on dynos here now and wont my rpm's be higher in gear therefore putting out more smog?

One suggestion is that Steeda uses 3.73s in their smog legal kit with their program, if I'm not mistaken. So I say 3.73s are the limit.

4.10 should be fine. my friend is a smog tech and a trick to get cars to pass is to hold them in 1st to get more RPM's out of them. so you should be fine puting in 4.10's in your stang
