got '12 GT gas indicator down to 3 miles left

I don't get the point in letting it get so empty. I let mine get to the 50 miles to mt warning sometimes, but stopping is inevitable, why push it to it's limit each time? What is to gain? Risk vs reward.

Ateup, I understand the point. I pay close attention and do this on my daily routes and have made it work for me. Part of it is gas is nearly 10 cents a gallon more in Nashville where I work, but that is secondary. I did this since I started driving in the late 70's.

However... When I am not in my normal areas, I rarely see the low fuel light come on cause I fill up at a quarter tank. When not in familiar areas I don't push it at all.

On the daily routes it provides a challenge for me...LOL.
