RICKS said:The new Vette has some nicer crisper styling than the C5, and an improved interior (although it's still cheapie-looking and uninspired for the money), and obviously the performance is hot, BUT..... It looks even worse than ever from the side, where the car suffers from flat-out goofy proportion and balance. I don't know if the wheels are too far back, or the tail is chopped off too short, or some combo of both, but since '97 the Corvette simply has not been a beautiful car. Not even close. The C4 was the last 'Vette that looked great, inside and out, at every angle. The C2 was the best looking ever. Not to turn this into a 'Vette thread, just stating that I wouldn't want one at practically any price just because it's homely. I think the Mustang's design works much better aesthetically. Congrats on the new GT!!! I thought the same thing also the 1st time I saw your pic. Whenever I order a new car, I tell the dealer in writing that if they drill my bumper, they own it, I won't take it (Actually, I tell them that if they touch it in any way in dealer prep, they're dead...). But maybe you live in a front bumper license plate state??
Wow, what a surprise, on a car that has a base price of $45K.... What do you expect?????every one i see is drivin by some old guy..or id guess ..not any younger then 30-35...
No, they've got a little more class than to be beating on their cars everywhere they go like a teenage kid, as if it's the first fast car they ever owned.and most of them seem so stuck up...they dont ever get on it...its like they dont know how to drive them or something..
Yes, they are trying their damdest to ignore you. I try to ignore most cars that pick fights with me on the street, as they are usually people in cars that wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of beating me anyway. Street racing is an EXTREME risk. Aside from the safety aspect of launching through the gears in an extremely fast car, you've got the real risk of HEAVY tickets for racing, reckless driving, etc.etc... Not the kind of thing you want on your record when you're paying insurance on a Vette. Now I'm no saint, and I've had some good street races in my time, but I'm really choosy about where and what I race. I don't waste my time on ANYTHING that doesn't appear to be worth my while. Most Vette drivers are more interested in just getting where they're going, not getting drawn into some silly and risky contest that they already know they'll likely take unless it's an 03-04 Cobra, or they can hear an aftermarket blower whining.iv pulled up to vettes before and reved and the guys just kinda look over and then look straight and ignore me..wtf??

Lastly, the Corvette is a true sports car, the Mustang is not. You obviously don't want a sportscar, and the compromises that come with one. That's fine. It doesn't make the Corvette "worse" than a Mustang, or a Mustang better. They are apples and oranges, and not really comparable. I've owned Corvettes, and I've owned some stupidly fast modded Mustangs. You can't build a Mustang into a Corvette. It may be faster, but it will never have the underpinnings and engineering. It's like drugging up a donkey to beat a horse in a race. It's certainly a way to get the job done on the cheap, but your donkey aint no horse.
I promise, I am a Mustang owner and lover!!! Just had to get some perspective injected here.
