I just bought a 99 ford explorer motor ( 5.0 with gtp heads) from the salvage yard with low miles, the question I am asking is , the oil filter extension is ugly , when I removed it there is no external threads it only has internal threads none for a normal oil filter, I have spun the center portion out , is there a replacement for this and if so where would a guy find one or do I have to run that ugly filter extension. any help you be great thanks
