I am on a trip with my sons HS Marching Band in China.
I am told has moved from being the largest Bike market, to becoming the largest car market. Cars brought in, require a 200% of purchase price, excise tax. Ourt guide quoted almost 1,000,000 new taxi cabs in China..almost all less than 3 years old. Some kind of Toyota.
Even with that tax, I saw a nice new Lambo vert right outside the hotel the first morning after we arrived. And a new Alfa, that looks like the Lotus we saw in the States 5-7 years ago....
You don't see too many American cars yet...but Buicks are the new prestige car, and are built here to avoid the tax.
Our tour bus did pass a Camaro yesterday....even in China, Camaro's are slow!
