help: brake piston???

Alot of people like the steel over the phenolic mainly because the phenolic ones have a tendence to get cracked if you aren't careful with them when changing pads.
The phenolic pistons allow less heat transfer into the fluid behind the piston which keeps the fluid from getting to hot and possibly boiling. Better for road racing where there is alot of stopping.

For most either will work fine and you would prolly never no the difference.

Phenolic resin is a "high-tech" material. It's supposedly lighter and stronger and doesn't transmit heat, but the question to if this is beneficial is still up in the air with me personally....and i'm an engineer

I still stick with my original answer of "It doesn't matter get whatever is cheaper"
