Help my car won't rev past 3500 rpm's!

The car is a 95 gt 5 speed It idles perfect and drives fine below 3500 rpms but then it bogs hard and sticks at 3500, then stalls. Car has all new related tune up items, thanks

did you just buy this car, maybe it has a rev limiter in place altho i dunno why its that low..

I'll put 20 on the TFI module being bad.

My car did the same thing.

TFI module is on the heatsink on the passenger side under the air intake.

fuel filter and module were replaced about 6 months ago. Yeah the car seems like it hits the rev limiter but at 3500 rpms, I'm stumped and there is no cel.

CEL doesn't need to be on for a code to be stored. Pull the codes anyway and see what comes up. Could be your coil. When mine went south, it felt like it hit a brick wall around 3500.

Car dosent have cats and I swapped coils with a brand new one and that didn't help either, I'm stuck guys any more ideas

Maybe the Hall Effect sensor in the distributor?

I would check the fuel pressure and see if it drops at 3500. Usually fuel pumps just cut out and die, but I have seen one fall short on pressure when the rpm's went up and choke the car. If it isn't that, you can narrow it down electrically to the distributor advance. Check the obvious things like the MAF and IAC first. If those are within specs, I would pull the distributor and check it out. My 94 would do almost the same around 3500-4000 and after I threw in the MSD it went away.
