Hey everyone. I just bought a 1997 Cobra convertible with 56k miles. It has a few minor issues.

One, when it's cold, I get a slight hesitation under acceleration somewhere between 3-4k RPM's. The hesitation is also there when it's warm, but barely.

Also, when I shift into 5th gear, it usually only does it once, the first time I use 5th when I leave the house in the morning.

I don't get any check engine lights. Any suggestions?

96-98 Cobras have IMRC plates that open around 3300 rpm. The transition should be smooth or even a boost in power. If there's a hesitation they might not be opening properly. Reach behind each cylinder head, up against the firewall, and see if the cables are attached and if the IMRC shaft turns freely. google IMRC and you'll find all kinds of info.
