I'm thinking that you may have some issues with that MAF while the car is still in open loop in the mornings or possibly and O2 sensor problem. I would think that there would be a check engine light though if it were the O2 sensors.
The IAT sensor behind the MAF may be the problem. The MAF should be fine at low or high temps. The IAT reads the temp of the air and is supposed to compensate for the colder or warmer air.
I think you may be right, it seems to be reading air temps. higher than I would expect, I am going to hook up the computer this weekend when it turns cold again and see what it reads as intake temp.
Still no update from me, the problem seems to be getting better, even on cold mornings (which have been rare the last month or two), I have changed spark plugs and added a cold air intake since this started, but it does still happen.
