Quick Fuel Pump Question

I never noticed this before but when you have the car running, are you supposed to hear the fuel pump make a constant humming sound. I hear a faint humming sound while im in my car and when I go the hatch area and lift up the carpet I can def. hear it more.

I never heard this before.

Sometimes when I turn the key I dont hear the pump prime until i turn the key to the ON position again.

I got a full tank if that matters

Could my pump be going bad. My fuel pump relay clicks twice when I prime the pump

The pumps always hum. Usually you have to get real close to hear. But as they get some age on them they can get louder than normal. I had one start humming very loudly on my '88 years ago . It did that for a couple years as I never got around to changing it.

One day it finally quit humming about 20 miles from home. $75 for a tow truck that day.

I think the pump is like 5 years old or so. its a 155lph summit or holley one I believe.

I think I want to replace it just in case. lol
