65 coupe Finally got around to it. Took one leaf out of my 5 leaf springs ( the rear end set up too much) and it dropped the back about an inch. Looks much better. While I was at it I sandblasted the drums ( previous owners had them black, then red, then black again) and the shackles. Painted them back the original metal color. Since they show thru the styled steel wheels it really cleaned up the look.

To be honest, that's kinda my plan. I look at it this way: there's no difference price-wise, so I plan to buy 5 leaf springs, then either trim the leafs or simply remove one to get the right balance of ride height, stiffness and handling. Kinda hard to stiffen up 4 leafers, but rather easy to soften up the 5's

why didnt you just use a lower block? would have been a lot easier and you wouldnt have had to have removed a leaf.

Because the ride was too stiff and the height was too high. Previous owner had put the fives on. Hey, if you want easy, buy a new Toyota.
