Springs: short and long installed where?

Excellent, thanks a lot! I had to postpone the install because the rod on the spring compressor Checkers Autoparts provide was too long and so was Autozone's, but tomorrow is a new day.

For anyone doing the same install, it seems that Autozone has the best loaner tools. I got both a strut compressor and a coil compressor from them so if one doesn't work, the other one will. The lenght of their coil compressor rods seems more suitable lengthwise for Mustangs.

I haven't needed a spring compressor for changing springs in any of the late model Mustangs I've done. In the front I just used a jack under the control arm and lowered it slowly until all the compression was relieved from the spring and pulled them out. On the rear I just lowered the rear housing slowly after unbolting the shocks until the springs were not in compression. :nice:
