starting problem! workin on the car now need some help quickly!

alright the car started up without any problem yesterday, but today when i try starting it it cranks real quickly probably moving the belt about an inch and then stop. i noticed the starter relay was getting really hot. also i smelt something burning, and i think it came from the relay. but why wont it crank over normally? also when i keep trying to start it the battery goes completely dead. so i hooked it up to the charger got it to 100% and try again, same stuff battery goes dead again

You may want to double check all the grounds, also the ign switch maybe going bad,you may want to also have the starter checked

i never could figure out why my ignition wouldnt work, i forgot to add, i hooked a push button start directly to the starter relay. work fine yesterday worked fine in my hatch before

pulled codes on non running test, got 81, 82, 85, 84, 95

alright guys, found the problem, i took the belt off and checked all the pullies and my power steering pump was ceized up. looks like i gotta spend some money now. joy

You can bypass the pump for a short time if the money isnt available.

would it effect the rack and pinion at all?

I drove from Florida to Georgia with a short belt, I bypassed the a/c and the p/s pump
