Me and my g/f did a compression test today on the stang. 120 across the board on a warm engine. Every spark plug was black around the rim of it, and the actual part that has the spark was clean. Im pretty sure after this that I'm running rich, and with the smell of the gas that I have I'm really sure of it. Also cylinder number 5 or 6 I'm not sure which one was caked with black stuff. Im not sure if its carbon or unburnt fuel or what. I cleaned it off it looks like new. I'm just curious as to why this car is smoking so much if my compression is 120 across the board? That means it can't be a headgasket right? I suppose I could still be leaking antifreeze in between the EGR and the TB but i have a new gasket plus the blue silicone gasket stuff on there. I can't figure out what the problem is. After I went out and ran the car for a while I came home and popped the cap on the oil fill spout and there was no smoke coming out, so I dont think its the valves. Anyone have any idea??
