Most likely 2.73.
What he said, but i believe there was also an option for a 3.08 gear (please correct me if i'm wrong).

An easy way to find out what gear you have is to jack up the rear end of your car and crawl under it, mark a small x on the driveshaft with a marker and have someone else turn the tire one revolution while you count how many times the driveshaft spins. if the driveshaft spins 2 3/4 turns you have 2.73 gears, if it turns 3 1/2 turns you have 3.55 gears and so on.

hope this helps.

MM's method is best, unless one knows the exact pedigree of the car (we dont get new door and pumpkin tags after gear swaps).

For '88, 2.73's were standard and 3.27's were the optional cog for autos (I think 3.08's were the optional cog for manuals).
