i blew my old stock t5 apart and now i need a new trans. im looking at the super duty t5 from ford... $1100. will it hold up to my setup?...
stock 302 bottom, tfs tw heads, frpp 1.6rr, f cam, cobra intake, all the bolt- ons... any input would be great, i really dont want to spend all the dough on a tko conversion, thanks!

If I'm not mistaken the "super duty" t5 is rated for 330ft/lbs as opposed to 300 for the standard t5.. don't think it's really worth the $ for an extra 30ft/lbs. Might as well just go for a tremec and not have to worry about blowing it up.

isn't the super-duty the world class that became standard in the 89's i believe. i would spend the extra money on a tremec 3550, or tko. a little notchy shifting but will take a beating for a long time.

i noticed alot of guys here running a similar setup as me... using a t5... i don't plan on doing any more power mods... MAYBE a small upgrade to a fresh 306 with TFS pistons but still thats not too much power. this is a street driven car, very rarely if ever will it see the 1/4.

i would also ask what clutch you are running and do you run on slicks? the amount of driveline 'bite' goes in figuring out (crudely) how much the trans can take.

good luck.
