Temp Sensor question

My temp gauge don't work. I already took the wire off the sensor on the engine block (right under the oil pressure switch) and tested the wire with a test light and my gauge in the dash did go up , so I know its not the gauge. Is the temp sensor on the block they only one I need to replace? Thanks

yes there is only one sensor... the other water sensor is in the lower intake manifold and that controls the fan...
