Well i spent about 2 hours under the car with a wire brush, rust remover and got plenty of rust off, alot of parts were obviously brown but I got alot of the thick layer of rust off most of the bottom of the headers(bad part). I got it to a point where it was as smooth as I could get it. I bought some Dupli-Color High Heat with ceramic coating, dyno heat tested Aluminum spray/protectant that takes up to 1200 degrees of heat. I spraid a few coats of what I could get too, but spraid the parts that were bad. take a look, at least it won't get worse from here. Still waiting for Mac's reply to my email....

obviously, If I had to do it over, I would have taken this stuff and loaded it on before I got them installed. I just got it at a local Advanced Auto Parts in the Paint isle. It's Dupli Color(12oz bottle) HIGH HEAT w/Ceramic, "DYNO HEAT TESTED". it has a picture of headers and a motor on the bottle, it takes up to 1200* of heat. It's about 5$ a bottle. and on the cap it says "ALUMINUM DH1606". :nice: while I'm at it I'm gonna spray my mufflers as well....... :)

that's the stuff I used on my macs. I put a bunch of coats on before installing them as well as on my dr.gas x (had a bunch of extra paint :) ) Mine did get scratched up during the install, but I touched them up and they seem to be hold up great :crosses fingers:
