Voltage Regulator?

Is there a voltage regulator on this car? The battery light is on, and the stock volt meter is sitting at 9 volts, no matter the revs. Alternator is good, what else could it be?

The voltage regulator is in the alternator. They're easy to change. You'll need a paperclip if I remember right.

How is it known that the alternator is good?

Nevermind guys, alternator was bad. Had a different auto parts store check it, it shorted their machine out...
