My roommate's '96 Opel Frost 248A has the black strip.
-Of course the 248A also has V6 seats and less sound insulation.
It would be interesting to find out what the real reason is that some have it and some don't.
Was it only 1994 Stangs that had the black trim on the rear bumpers?

I had a 96 gt that had it as well. My 95 cobra doesn't though. I pretty sure 94-97 gt's had the black on the rear bumpers but 98's don't.

All I can say on that is that my 96 was white and had the black trim I've never seen the black trim on a 98 model white ones included....That doesn't mean that all of them didn't have it though or that some 96 and 97 gt's didn't have it. Ford has done stranger things!

Checked out a bright blue '95 today that was built in January of '95 & had a full blue bumper-no black trim
Guy is the 2nd owner & his brother was the original owner, said the car was never repainted. Also, I saw what looked like some blue overspray on the tail pipe hangers, maybe it wasn't paint & I'm just trippin I did see all the VIN# stickers on all the body parts except the rear bumper cover-where would they normally stick it?

then it shouldn't matter about the rear bumper the stripes are really far away and wont interfear with the rear bumper...and the black bottom piece just makes it look like a stock rear bumper...im not huge on stripes i think they tend to look tacky on cars but where you say they stop seems to be really different....do you have any pics of the rear of your car??

My black 95 gt has the whole bumper painted. I'm the third owner and don't think it was ever painted? I'm curious now and will have to take a look when I get home.
