Will this syphon technique work?

Hi,

I wanted to run it by those with more experience, whether or not this approach will work.
I need to drain the tank on my 03 mach 1.

Disconnect inertia switch in trunk, run the car until it dies, disconnect battery, disconnect the fuel line at fuel filter.
I planned on buying a self priming hose, for example:

Would I be able to drain the tank successfully with this approach?
Anyone know the fuel line size so i can try to match it with the hose?

The problem with your plan is there's an anti-siphon and anti-rollover valve at the end of the fuel filler neck that will prevent you from inserting the siphon line through the filler neck into the gas tank.

The next problem is that it's unlikely you will be able to pull a siphon THROUGH the fuel pump and fuel filter.

Thanks for the reply, it looks like a new option but maybe more difficult, not having done this before.
To loop it in:

'Note, on a 1999-2004 model year (FPDM) jumping the fuel pump relay won't force the fuel pump to run all the time. If you want to use the fuel pump to drain the tank it will be necessary to split the system between the FPDM and gas tank hat. The connector is near the center of the fuel tank below the rear bumper. Split the connector and force power down the RD/BK BN/PK wires towards the fuel pump. When I have done this i have disconnected the output of the fuel filter and used the output nipple of the fuel filter to attach a short piece of flexible hose. Put the hose in a suitable storage container. '

Since the fuel filter location isn't recommended, is there a better line to use? or the problem will happen from any of the fuel lines?
I got the idea from someone on forums who said that's how he drained his.
