When I mash down the gas pedal it seems the car accelerate's slow but if you back off the gas pedal a little it goes like it use to go.The car is a 90 gt 5speed because of this I have changed the clutch and the clutch packs in the rear and still acts the same.It seems to happen about 3000 rpm.Any suggestions?

Dump the codes and see what the computer says is wrong…

Here's the link to dump the computer codes with only a jumper wire or paper clip and the check engine light, or test light or voltmeter. I’ve used it for years, and it works great.

See http://www.troublecodes.net/Ford/
OR
See http://www.dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html for more descriptive help

IF your car is an 88 stang, you'll have to use the test lamp or voltmeter method. There is no functional check engine light on the 88's except possibly the Cali Mass Air cars.

Codes have different answers if the engine is running from the answers that it has when the engine isn't running. It helps a lot to know if you had the engine running when you ran the test.

Trouble codes are either 2 digit or 3 digit, there are no cars that use both 2 digit codes and 3 digit codes.

For those who are intimidated by all the wires & connections, see http://www.actron.com/product_detail.php?pid=16153 for what a typical hand scanner looks like. Normal retail price is about $30 or so at Walmart.

Well thanks for your input but my CEL is not on or is it posible there are codes without the CEL?I have already changed the fuel pump with a 155 lph.I know I should have got the 190 lph but the car was stock and the fuel filter.Any other sugestion?could a bad IAC or TPS cause something like I discribed in my first post.I did do some searching but it could be so much sheet I thought what i discribed might ring a bell to someone with the same problem.

you answered your own question and why JR posted for you to pull codes. the KAM can store codes which dont trip the CEL. intermittant problems like yours are especially likely to not toss the light (obd-II seems to be very touchy, but not our I's).

id pull codes. then i might check FP, as suggested (it is the next easiest thing to check). then if ok, try and track down ignition stuff. please be more specific. you said it happens at WOT, but then said it is worst at 3K rpm. so is it really really bad at 3K, or am i lost? does it do it with a hot motor, cold motor, both. etc.
good luck.

Your right so I will explain better. It happens at 3000 rpm when the pedal is mashed down but if I feather the gas pedal it dosn't do it. It actulally picks up good but I know the car has more.First thing tomorow I'm gonna have autozone pull codes if any, then the cap, rotor, plugs, and wire couldn't hurt anything and see were I'm at after that but thanks for all your help.

Oh yeah I forgot how good it is to downshift at 3000rpm in second gear into first.I
it is not good at all. you need to fix the problem, not band aid and compromise around it, to the point that you break other things, IMHO.
