Would you run 35 profile tires?

I'm looking for a little help here since I have not run anything lower than 50 series on my Stang. I have a Jaguar I am upgrading to 18,19,or20's. The 18's will fit 45 series but the 19 and 20's need a 255-35 to fit. How do these tires ride on rough roads? I see alot of people running these low profile tire but i don't want to mess up the ride of the jag to much. Thanks in advance.:)

+2 on not doing 35 series on the Jag!
The only way I'd do a 35 series if the width was at least 300 to give you a decent amount of sidewall! The # you are refering to is the aspect ratio(% of tire width). Eventhough tires have a lower aspect ratio, it does not mean they are shorter. My 295/45 is 1.1" taller than the OEM 235/50.
 
I really don't have issues with my 295/35/19 for my rear tires except that my BF G's are a little bit noisy on the road because of the tread pattern. Other than that I love the low profile look. The ride quality is about the same as the stockers. My fronts are 245/40/19 series. Both fronts and rears are equal to the overall ride hight to the stock tires .
 
I've got 275/35 x 20s all round and the ride is fine on my Mustang.

However, much depends on other factors. For example, I have Roush progressive springs and Tokico D-Specs which I have set one turn from hardest. The wheel and tyre combo only adds 10lbs a corner too but a heavier wheel would perhaps cause the ride to deteriorate. All I can say is the ride I have is great and I use Dunlop Sport Maxx tires which aren't too noisy on road roar.

It's a question of what you want. I'm more than happy with what I've got and you get a sharper steering input. I couldn't tolerate the 55 profile junk that comes as stock on the car. Moving from stock rims/tires to what I have now, I'd hardly say the transformation was significant enough that I'd even notice to any significant difference in the ride but the steering response and grip is a different league.

Since Jags are softly sprung, I'm not convinced that the ride would deteriorate to any huge degree.
 
Gonna dive in with LV on this, I'm a little more extreme with my tire sizes as well. 255/35/20 up front currently a 285/30/20 rear.

I can't complain about the ride at all at this point and I ride around in a cushy soft suspensioned truck for my DD.

To be honest, I'm more worried about the dang things gettin taco'd up on a pothole or something. I like how mine rides very much..
 
All tires of the same nominal size don't perform equally. I'd look at the Tire Rack's comparison tests. They seem to be pretty thorough.

My 275-35-19 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s really ride much better than the previous 245-45-18 Bridgestone RE-01Rs. They are, as you say, luxury sport tires, and except for the (reputed) short tread life, are very much worth the (expensive) cost. They make my puny V6 Mustang feel like a BMW 750 on the road (that's what the tires are specific to)(the BMW; road, too, come to think of it).

I have been warned about the vulnerability of rims this size and larger to damage from chuck holes and pot holes. No problems so far. The Saleen Parnelli Jones wheels are heavy and thick; I hope they will stand up to ordinary and autocross use.
 
I want to thank everyone for the input. I just ordered staggered TSW Indy 500 wheels 19x8 and 19x9.5
Yokohama S-drive tires
Front 245-40-19
Rear 255-40-19
