Strange Engineering struts/shocks

Has anybody bought and used these on their fox body? Adjustable struts are 119 each and adjustable shocks and 69 each.

I am considering buying these, because I want to fine tune Project 81 Hack Job because the wheels are so close to the quarter edge. You can adjust the rebound too.

Anyways, 50 resto is out of the question. There adjustable kits are out of the question. Kits go from KYB ADJ 489 to Tockico from 609. The whole kit from Strange is 380.

Anybody have any input???

I don't have any personal experience with them but I've never heard anything bad about them. I've got som QA1 12 way adjustables waiting to go in the rear and I'm either going to run the adjustable stranges up front or QA1's if they have em.

i just put em on this week....they ride awesome so far... i used the hotchkis cc plates too...well worth the money... you will get better weight transfer

I also saw Steeda has some rear LCA's to raise and lower the ride height, but for 399.99!!!

Air Lift makes air bags that lift the suspension up for 70 bucks, I might install those as well.

if you buy them for the back youll be upset you didnt for the front...they make the front end pull up alot easier and the rebound is much slower coming down...great if you want good launches...although im not really sure what your intentions are with your car(street or strip)?

That's the great thing about them, you can use them for street, strip, or even open road if you desire.

I have the rears, and LOVE them. At the track I was able to dial them in to get my car to squat dead even, instead of the typical passengers side dip I would get prior to having the adjustable shocks.

I recommend them highly.

AllBalls---I built Hack Job just to do it. I had a car, then bought a drivetrain. I wanted to make a nice car that ran good and had good dependability. Now that it is done, my rife height keeps getting lower, and closer to the tires, and I still have to add the interior. I just want to get a good adjustable shock that can dampen some of the cracks/potholes/uneven intersections on our poor Michigan roads. I will go to the track just to see what she will turn, but it won't be a track duty car.

Rick91Gt---That is what I was thinking. The price seems great. Plus, the owner of a good fabrication shop/Mustang shop, (who has built cars that took 1st place at Autorama (Detroit) 2 years in a row recommended them).

I think I will spend an extra few hundred bucks and do it. I'm already way over what I thought I would have in the car, but there is no looking back now.

Adjustable LCA's for the win. I baught them from Pro3 industries on here and I dont remeber how much I paid but they were worth every penny and now my stang doesnt have a ghetto lean either

So the adjustable LCA's you have.....You can lower your car about 1 inch and raise it 2 inches right? That is what all the brands say. I don't care about lowering my car it already has steed sport springs, and it is too low for the wheel/axle combo I have.

Can you adjust them with a 1/2" rachet, or do you need an impact? Either way I got it.

Yeah, I have the same springs you have. You can adjust it by hand with a rachet.

I have the 10 way adjustables, very nice I really like them. But mine are now 3 years old and are in need of replacement. The front wheels are bouncing around like basket balls. It's my daily driver and do a lot of miles in a year. I highly recommend them.

I have the shocks and struts, i havent installed the shocks, but the struts work pretty well, not loose enough for my liking though, but they are very streetable. I run them on the softest setting that is "full drag" says the instructions, and even with no swaybar and skinnies i was cruising along on the highway at 75-80 mph with no issues whatsoever.


And FYI im about 98% sure that you cant adjust the rebound, mine have only one adjustment knob. but they are like half the price of anything that is even comparable to them, so its definitely a deal

they work awesome...you have to adjust them stiff to drive on the road... if you adjust them to be soft, so the car lifts easy in the front, then you hit bumps hard... but as for the functionality there really good, my front end lifts alot more than stocks so i get my weight transfer to the back of the car, where i want it...

Yeah, I figured out later, you couldn't adjust the rebound. This guy with a 66 GTO I know, has got it all tricked out and his Competition Engineering shocks are double adjustable and he paid over 600 bucks for them.

I actually just found a set of used replacement struts that someone put on their fox before they wrecked it sitting here in the JY. I still want new ones, but it's October. I might drive the thing one more time. Then it sits til May/June.

I better get some new struts and shocks for Hack Job, so she's ready to sell in the spring.
