Been shopping for a month and the 03 I ended up with is listed as black interior. It sure looks like a dark gray to me...as do all the pics of the triple blacks I saw on the net. Is this considered black? Thanks guys, never had a stang B4...pick it up next Saturday.

Don't know. I've got a 98 which has a black interior. I wanted to change my center console to a 01+ because I think it looks better. Has the cup holder further back and an actual e-brake boot. I got one from ebay that was labeled as midnight black, (the manufacturers label), and looked black in the pictures. It was a dark grey when I reiceived it though, and now that I know what to look for, I havent seen a true black one for sale.

im pretty sure black only came in 94-98, and dark charcoal came in 99-04, i dont think a "true" black interior came it 99-04's......

I previously owned an 01 oxford white GT with dark charcoal interior and I now own an 02 zinc yellow GT with the black interior....there is definitely difference without question (as says everyone who has been in both of them).

Agreed,i thought the same,so i dug out every Mustang brochure that i have starting from 2000 year model, and on,and all of them say dark charcoal leather/cloth interior,no black.

94-98 has about as close to true black as you'll get. The official name is "Midnight Black"

In 1999, Ford changed the shade to a dark gray color and renamed it "Dark Charcoal. However, the 1999 Limited Edition and the 03-04 Mach 1 both still have their interior colors listed in the brochures as "Midnight black", but the parts are the same as dark charcoal interior.

Is there a difference? Yes.

My '03 Dark Charcoal interior with a 1994 Midnight Black steering wheel.

Then is it just an option with the yellow paint jobs? I can see where it would go better with the yellow than a charcoal interior would. Also, can I still say mine is triple black?

Your interior is "Dark Charcoal". You do not have midnight black. Dealers don't know much sometimes about Mustangs, and the average person would call it black as well.

You have a typical 2003 Mustang Dark Charcoal interior...with the Interior Upgrade Package as well. (Silver vent trim, adjustable headrests, pedals)

For the average conversation with a average person, you have a black interior. But here on Stangnet, you have "Dark Charcoal". Go sit in a 94-98 car and you'll see what a true SN95 black interior is like.

I dont know. Everyone here is saying its a dark charcoal. It just seems darker than than the dark charcoal II had in my 01 GT

Yellow really wouldn't look very good with a lighter interior lol

It does look darker in that pic.

However, i can see the "GT" hood stripes meaning that is a 2000 spring edition Mustang. It, along with the 1999 Limited edition Mustang had their interiors listed as "Midnight Black". Some have stated that the 99 LE's and 00 SE's did have a black interior in fact. I have not sat in one though so I can't be 100% sure if this is accurate.

Lighting does play a huge role though in the color as well as the color of the vehicle. In a black car, the interior looks light. But in a light color, it can look black. I have some pics of my '03's interior that look nearly black.

I've been in a quite a few 99=04's...none have had a true black interior like 94-98's. (except for the 99 and 00 special editions i mentioned above)

If i showed you this pic of my '03...you'd say it was black

And yet this '00's interior looks significantly lighter.

If you stumbled across these pics on the net, you'd say the interior were two different colors. I assure you they are the same shade of Dark Charcoal.

And a slightly closer up pic...still looks darker than the '00's interior I posted above. But in bright sunlight...it looks just as light as the white car above.
